Get to Know me
Hi, I'm Lydia
I'm in my third year studying Interior Architecture and Design at Sheffield Hallam University. I have always been a creative person, studying art and design subjects for many years at school. This led to me finding my passion for interiors. I have enjoyed my time at university so far learning new skills and meeting new people, I am excited to see where this course takes me.
This website is my online portfolio where I can show off my designs, inspiration and thoughts.

ACHIEVEMENTS

In March 2024 I placed second for the Commercial Interiors UK Student Design Competition. I was awarded highly commended by the judges and had the pleasure of attending their annual dinner, held in Manchester, to collect my certificate in front of other students and employees from the design industry. Find out more and see my final design under my 'achievements' page.
My Journey
Subjects I have studies so far...

Art
For both my GCSE's and A Levels I studied art. I chose this subject because I enjoyed the creative freedom it gave me, being encouraged to try new media and create interesting pieces. During my time I produced: abstract silk lamps, large scale tonal drawings and paintings.

Textiles
For my GCSE's I took textiles. I wanted to explore creativity through fashion and learn more about materials. I created mood boards and physical garments such as a corset.

DEC
I also studied DEC throughout GCSE's and A Levels. This stands for Design Engineer and Construct. I have found this subject the most helpful during my course as it taught me skills I use today such as Autodesk Revit and the RIBA stages. This was my favourite subject hence why I wanted to further my education into Interior Architecture and Design.
